Mike's biography
Michael (known as Mike) was born into the Stafford family early in 1970. He spent his early life cheerfully, in spite of mounting tension and
aggravation between his parents. On his removal to London at 8 years old, Mike found it difficult adjusting to his new life as he was very fond
of his father and loved outdoor sports which were not possible in their confined London home.
By the time he reached High School however, his cheerful personality endeared him to peers and teachers where he became a popular student.
Never as academically inclined or ambitious as his older sister, Sian, he nonetheless did well especially in all kinds of sports and outdoor
pursuits.
Mike chose not to attend university but returned instead to Australia where he lived with his father for a short while. From then he worked
around the world in various jobs, usually coaching activities such as watersports, hiking, climbing, ski-ing, swimming and diving.
In 1999, while visiting Scotland for Sian’s wedding he met Andriah, who he later married. The couple set up their own outdoor pursuits
business, with financial backing from Sian.
They live in a small village, 18 miles north of Dunochart with their two children, Kier and Maia, where Mike enjoys getting his kids up to every
outdoor pursuit possible!
