When I was a little girl, I loved paper dolls! As I got older, I kind of forgot about them and how much I loved them because I wasn't a little girl anymore. But recently, I've been bullet journaling and I started seeing people using paper dolls as embellishments for their journals and I got excited about them all over again! I started looking for paper dolls that I could print out, color, and glue in my journal and then I became obsessed. I found out that I am not the only one. Apparently, there is a huge online following of all things paper doll.
So, I decided to try my hand at drawing paper dolls myself. Now, I will be the first to admit that I am not an artist. In fact, I used to have what can only be described as "art anxiety". The idea of trying to draw anything used to literally make me cry. In college, I found a great art teacher (Bill Morningstar at Berea College) who said "If you can think it, I can help you put it on the page." I'm still not artistic, but I don't cry when I draw any more. :)
Anyway, when I was growing up, my sister and I used to love to make our own clothes for our papers dolls but we never drew our own dolls. So, I'm kind of jumping out into space here. Bear with me. I don't love what I've come up with so far, but I don't hate it either.
I will be posting the first 2 of my creations as soon as I figure this blog thing out. Yeeha! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
